The objective of this work package is twofold:
- Workflow generation: Study the feasibility and prototype the usage of a high level notation for workflow definition (e.g. BPMN) and the automatic generation of the corresponding workflows in executable format (e.g. BPEL)
- Dynamic workflows: Enable on-the-fly service chaining by users based on web service descriptions with semantic annotations and an editing environment that proposes and checks consistency of service outputs and service inputs.
Achievements
- Workflow generation tool Proof of concept prototype of workflow generation tool based on high-level notation has been delivered and is available online.
- Workflows optimization on the fly Proof of concept prototype of the workflows optimisation on-the-fly has been delivered and is available online.
- Generic uploading interface and workflow monitoring Workflow deployment interface has been delivered, interface implemented in the workflow server connected to the portal.
- Investigate methodologies for semantically annotating processing services - Survey on semantic annotation of processing with SAWSDL is available on project repository
